PM thanks the public for their interest in censure debate
March 26, 2025, at 1000hrs, at the Parliament, Government Spokesperson Jirayu Houngsub disclosed about the voting result of a general debate for the purpose of passing a vote of no-confidence in an individual Minister, held in accordance with Section 151 of the Constitution, where the Prime Minister secured 319 votes of confidence against 162 votes of no confidence, with 7 abstentions, surviving the no-confidence debate.
According to the Prime Minister’s post on X, the censure debate went well. She thanked all sides for doing their best in representing the people, be it, members of the cabinet for clarifying all the issues raised, and both Coalition and Opposition MPs for taking part in the parliamentary scrutiny with public interest in mind. All votes, pro or against, will bolster morale of the Prime Minister and cabinet members to continue to work to the fullest for the people. She also thanked all concerned staff and officials, the press, and the public for their interest in censure debate.
