January 21, 2025, at 1000hrs (Davos local time), at the Congress Center, Davos, Swiss Federation, during her attendance at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2025 (WEF AM25), Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra met with Mr. Remy Ejel, Chief Executive Officer Zone Asia, Oceania and Africa of Nestlé.
The Prime Minister commended Nestlé for its support to Thai farmers and emphasized the Thai Government’s intent to promote sustainable agriculture through modern agriculture and smart farming. Ease of doing business is also another policy that the Government prioritizes in a bid to facilitate the private sector’s investment. Thailand is also accelerating expansion of trade partnerships, and is set to sign the Thailand - EFTA FTA agreement, which will benefit Thai and foreign investors investing in Thailand.
The Prime Minister and Mr. Remy Ejel also discussed investment promotion in Thailand. Nestlé expressed its commitment to continue investing in the country, and to support sustainable growth of Thai coffee industry. During 2018-2024, Nestlé has expanded its production lines in Thailand, including coffee, UHT beverages, and animal feed, with the total investment of over 22.8 billion Baht. From 2025 onward, the company has planned to continue expanding its production lines, especially an investment in Nescafe production plant, and supporting Thai coffee farmers through enhancing their knowhows on coffee cultivation and purchasing coffee beans at fair prices.
Nestlé is a leading global food and beverage company, headquartered in Switzerland. It has nine manufacturing plants in Thailand to manufacture such well known products as Nescafe, Milo, and Bear brand milk.
