October 6, 2026, Deputy Government Spokesperson Ploythalay Laksameesaengjan disclosed that the cabinet, in its meeting today, approved an extension of the Emergency Decree in 3 Southern border provinces, namely, Narathiwat Province, except Yi‑ngo, Waeng, and Sukhirin Districts; Pattani Province, except Yaring, Panare, Mayo, Mai Kaen, Thung Yang Daeng, Kapho, and Mae Lan Districts; and Yala Province, except Betong, Yaha, Kabang, and Krong Pinang Districts, for another 3 months from October 20, 2026 to January 19, 2027, marking it the 86th extension.

The cabinet also approved the draft announcement on an extension of the Emergency Decree in Narathiwat Province, except Yi‑ngo, Waeng, and Sukhirin Districts; Pattani Province, except Yaring, Panare, Mayo, Mai Kaen, Thung Yang Daeng, Kapho, and Mae Lan Districts; and Yala Province, except Betong, Yaha, Kabang, and Krong Pinang Districts.
