The Cabinet approved in principle the draft Ministerial Regulation Designating Certain Wild Animals as Protected Wild Animals (No. …) B.E. …, as proposed by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and ordered for the draft Ministerial Regulation to be forwarded to Office of the Council of State for review and further proceedings.

The draft Ministerial Regulation Designating Certain Wild Animals as Protected Wild Animals (No. …) B.E. … stipulates removal of the Red‑whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus) as a protected wild animal (non‑aquatic, bird species, No. 576) from the annex of the Ministerial Regulation Designating Certain Wild Animals as Protected Wild Animals B.E. 2567.
This amendment will allow the breeding of the Red‑whiskered Bulbul, which is considered an economic species that should be supported for free breeding. The measure will help increase bird populations as a direct substitute for hunting in the wild, and promote Red‑whiskered Bulbul as an economic species for income generation.
Title: Designation of Thai National Important Day and Annual Public Holiday
The Cabinet approved proposal of the Cabinet Secretariat as follows:
- Acknowledged the Prime Minister’s Office Announcement on the Designation of Thai National Important Day which stipulates that His Majesty the King graciously designated August 12 of every year as a Thai National Important Day for:
(1) The Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother
(2) National Mother’s Day
- His Majesty graciously ordered the holding of a Royal Merit‑Making Ceremony (Thaksinanupathan) on the occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday Anniversary.
- Approved that August 12 of every year remains to be observed as a public holiday, in line with the Cabinet resolutions of May 21, 2019 and November 12, 2024.
Title: Draft Roadmap on Strategic Partnership between Thailand and Indonesia (2026–2030)
The Cabinet approved the draft Roadmap on Strategic Partnership between Thailand and Indonesia (2026–2030). Should there be an amendment in parts that are not gist nor against national interest, Ministry of Foreign Affairs is authorized to proceed without seeking further Cabinet approval. Minister of Foreign Affairs, or a representative, is authorized as signatory of the draft roadmap. This is as proposed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Gist
Thailand and Indonesia agreed that Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries sign the draft Roadmap during the official visit of the Prime Minister to the Republic of Indonesia on August 3–4, 2026. The draft Roadmap will serve as a key outcome document of the visit. It will help translate the Strategic Partnership into concrete implementation for mutual benefit of the people of both countries. Cooperation covers 4 key areas, namely, politics, security and defense, economy and connectivity, social and cultural affairs, and regional and multilateral cooperation.
