
July 16, 2026, at 2220hrs (Shanghai local time), Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek disclosed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and the delegation arrived at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to begin his official visit to People’s Republic of China. He was welcomed by Vice Mayor Chen Jie of Shanghai and Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government Xu Kai.
In his official visit to China, the Prime Minister’s schedule covers 3 cities, namely, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Beijing. This visit is aimed at strengthening trade and investment cooperation and promoting innovation and hi-tech cooperation between Thailand and China. The Prime Minister’s schedule is as follows:
Friday, July 17, 2026
• Morning: The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony and deliver a statement at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, a major international forum on technology and innovation. He will then hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, followed by a visit and discussions with executives of AgiBot, a Chinese technology and robotics company.
• Afternoon: The Prime Minister will pay a courtesy call on President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China.
• Evening: The Mayor of Shanghai will pay a courtesy call to exchange views and promote cooperation.
Saturday, July 18, 2026
• The Prime Minister will attend the “Prime Minister–Thai Private Sector Luncheon” in Chengdu to listen to and exchange views with Thai businesses investing in China.
• Afternoon: He will preside over the opening of Thailand–China (Sichuan) Investment and Economic Forum 2026, and the inauguration of Investment Section at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu. He will also meet with 6 major Chinese companies to discuss investment expansion opportunities in Thailand.
• Evening: The Prime Minister will meet with the Party Secretary of Sichuan province.

• The Prime Minister will travel to Beijing to meet with senior executives of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. to exchange views on digital technology and innovation.
Monday, July 20, 2026
• The Prime Minister will meet with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress
• He will then attend the official welcoming ceremony and a plenary meeting with Premier Li Qiang of the People’s Republic of China, and later witness the signing of important agreements between Thai and Chinese Government agencies.
• The Chinese Premier will host a luncheon in honor of the Prime Minister.
• Afternoon: The Prime Minister will visit the headquarters of Alibaba Group and CP Center to observe the operations of leading businesses and promote economic cooperation between Thailand and China.
According to the Government Spokesperson, China places great importance to enhancing relations with Thailand, especially as this marks the Prime Minister’s first official visit to China. During the visit, he will pay courtesy calls and hold discussions with 3 key Chinese leaders: the President, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China.
It is expected that the outcomes of these meetings will lead to further support between the two countries. The Prime Minister’s engagements with leading Chinese private sector companies in technology, robotics, and e-commerce will also open new opportunities for Thailand in terms of investment opportunities in advanced industries; and gaining valuable insights, ideas, and recommendations for the development of high technology and AI from China.
