June 16, 2026, at the Government House, following the weekly cabinet meeting, Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek disclosed the concern of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul on the "super El Niño", and his assignment made to relevant agencies to be on alert, be prepared and to come up with response measures.

Those measures focus on management of consumption water, agricultural and industrial sectors, environment, and biodiversity, all of which are vital matters that directly affect people’s wellbeing and the nation’s economic security. The Prime Minister ordered all concerned agencies to follow up on the implementation progress of these measures and report to the cabinet in its meeting next week.

The Prime Minister also expressed concern for the lives and property of the people who may be affected by volatile weather conditions, as thunderstorms, strong winds, and summer storms, may result in the collapse of trees and branches in several areas. He assigned Ministry of Interior, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, local administrative organizations, and relevant agencies to urgently survey risk areas, prune trees, inspect billboards, structures, and public utilities that may be impacted, and to prepare preventive measures and contingency plans to ensure readiness in responding to possible situations at all times.
