May 29, 2026, Deputy Government Spokesperson Captain Patdarasm Thongsaluaykorn disclosed about the “Bangkok Pride Festival 2026” to be held on May 31, 2026 under the theme “Patch the World with Pride”.
Over the years, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security has worked closely with civil society networks to promote gender equality and support activities through the Gender Equality Promotion Fund. This year, in addition to supporting the organization of Pride Festival nationwide, the Ministry has also partnered with the Bangkok Pride through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation for the establishment of pilot provinces under the Pride City Network, covering 58 provinces.
This initiative is part of the preparation and support for Thailand’s bid to host World Pride 2030. This is to demonstrate Thailand’s readiness, at both the local and national levels, to welcome tourists and LGBTQ+ communities from around the world. It also aims at creating positive impacts on human rights and promoting long-term rainbow economy.
The Government has always prioritized human rights, diversity, and equality. Through the cooperation from all sectors, the Marriage Equality Law has been enacted. The “Bangkok Pride Festival 2026” will feature a grand rainbow parade stretching nearly 5 kilometers, from Khlong Chong Nonsi Park to Silom Road and Rama I Road. The festival will also showcase Isan folk culture, with the highlight performance by the legendary Mor Lam band “Rabiab Wathasilp” on the Pride Stage at Thephasadin Stadium.
