The Mozambique Minister of Transport and Communication expressed his pleasure to have met with PM Yingluck and hailed Thailand and ASEAN for their peacefulness, and growing economy of which Mozambique was interested in several areas of expertise. Both parties came to terms on the expansion of cooperation in connectivity between the two countries, particularly air connectivity. Mozambique was currently improving its airports and air traffic control system in order to upgrade its aviation system to international standard. For this, Mozambique sought Thailand’s cooperation and assistance in providing knowledge on airport management both in human resources development and new technologies. PM Yingluck welcomed Mozambique’s request and assigned Ministry of Transport to look into further detail on the possibility of cooperation in aviation between the two countries.
On this occasion, both parties also discussed about the official visit of PM Yingluck to Mozambique around the end of July 2013 which would mark the first state visit of a national leader in the history of Thai-Mozambique relations, and the first visit of PM Yingluck in an African country. Thailand hoped to strengthen mutual relations through this visit.
