May 24, 2013, at 1030hrs, the Thai private sector comprising 4 areas of business: supporting industry, food industry, SMEs and OTOP industry, and fashion design and lifestyle industry, had an observation visit on Japanese SMEs and OTOP marketing channels at the Antenna Shop. Government Deputy Spokesperson Harn Himathongkham revealed gist of the visit as follows:

The observation visit on Japanese SMEs and OTOP marketing channels at the Antenna Shop had an aim to enable the Thai private sector to observe ideas and examples of the Japanese product display particularly SMEs and OTOP products and apply on the development of marketing channel of Thai OTOP and SMEs products. The Antenna Shop is a trade center for products unique to each locality of Japan where tourists could have a feel of local culture and lifestyle even in Tokyo such as Osaka’s famous food products, Hokkaido’s dairy products, and Wakayama’s natural tourist destinations, to name a few.

Afterwards at 1200hrs, the group headed on to D47, a museum and shop for lifestyle and creative design products which displays and sells leading designed products from the 47 provinces of Japan based on the designated themes such as fashion accessories, and beer. The current theme that is on display is Nippon craft. Later at 1830hrs, at the Peninsular Hotel Tokyo, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra joined a dinner reception to listen to and discuss on the result of their observation study and applicability to the promotion and development of Thai products.
