May 7, 2013, at 1340hrs, at the Government Press Center, Naree Smosorn Building, Government House, following the cabinet meeting, Government Spokesperson Tosaporn Serirak revealed that PM Yingluck expressed her concern, during the meeting, on drought problem and ordered concerned Ministers to visit the areas under their responsibility to follow up on diversified issues particularly operations consistent to the national strategies, drought solution, preparation for the year-end rainfall situation, residents' hardship, agricultural zoning, reforestation, and drugs problem. PM's Secretary-General and the NESDB were also assigned to map out directions for the follow-ups, whereas ministries responsible for the big picture of each strategy (e.g. Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives for agricultural zoning) were ordered to submit related information to the Ministry of Interior to compile and further forward to the Ministers for their field visits.
PM Yingluck also informed the cabinet that it was the Government’s intent to implement a corporate social responsibility project (CSR Project) each year. For this year, a project on prosthetic legs was planned out since the prosthetic legs could be domestically produced and required less cost. PM’s Secretariat Office would be responsible for the project and would seek supports from Ministry of Transport and other ministries that were ready to collaborate in the project.
