Deputy PM Plodprasop chairs a meeting to prepare, prevent, and find solutions on emerging infectious diseases

It was agreed, at the meeting, to make a draft Order on the appointment of a chair and secretarial team under eight national sub-committees for the preparation, prevention, and solution of emerging infectious diseases.

May 3, 2103, at 1330hrs, at Meeting Room 501, Command Building I, Government House, Deputy Prime Minister Plodprasop Surasawadee presided over the 1/2013 meeting of the national committee for the preparation, prevention, and solution of emerging infectious diseases. Gist as follows:

It was agreed, at the meeting, to make a draft Order on the appointment of a chair and secretarial team under the following eight national sub-committees for the preparation, prevention, and solution of emerging infectious diseases: 1) sub-committee on mobilization of strategies for the preparation, prevention, and solution of emerging infectious diseases; 2) sub-committee on academic advisors on medical and national public welfare strategies; 3) sub-committee on the preparation, prevention, and solution of pathogen’s antimicrobial resistance; 4) sub-committee on surveillance, prevention, and control system development under the One Health scheme; 5) sub-committee on raising and health management of animals and wild lives; 6) sub-committee on surveillance system development, knowledge management, and research and development; 7) sub-committee on integrative management development and preparation for emergency; and 8) sub-committee on communication, and public relations on risks of emerging infectious diseases.

The draft will be submitted to Deputy PM Plodprasop through Secretary of the national committee for the preparation, prevention, and solution of emerging infectious diseases (Director General of Department of Communicable Disease Control). Number of the members for each sub-committee should be no more than 20 persons, and be incorporated of representatives from all sectors including the private sector and civil society.
