The Prime Minister expressed her humble gratitude for being granted an audience on the occasion of her state visit to the Kingdom of Sweden, and humbly extended her well wishes to His and Her Majesties of Sweden on behalf of the Thai Government and people. PM Yingluck also humbly expressed her delight for Thailand to be able to receive His and Her Majesties on their royal visits to the country throughout the past 30 years which reflected close ties between the two countries.
Later at 1520hrs (local time), PM Yingluck and the delegation traveled to a model city ‘Symbio City’ to observe and listen to the briefing on the integrated urban development. The ‘Symbio City’ is a holistic (integrated) Swedish-styled urban development that integrates holistic environmental and natural resources development, landscape planning, energy, water supply and sanitation, traffic and transport, waste management, architecture, and other resources utilization and management for a healthy and livable city environment with reasonable resources utilization and the least impact to environment. Since Symbio City is a concept, it is applicable to any urban areas and cities in the world from a small to a larger scale of areas such as homes, offices, or factories.
On this occasion, PM Yingluck urged concerned authorities and the Thai private sector to try to adapt and apply the dynamic concept to the Thai scenarios, and reiterated the Government’s policy to promote innovative cooperation and technology which is also environmental friendly for the country’s developmental sustainability and efficiency.
